Samelia Bawuah has always been an avid reader; she has been reading since she
was three years old, hence her complete understanding of what young people enjoy reading. She is an Author, Writer, Publisher, Motivational speaker and a business woman. Being the first of 4 siblings she has played the big sister role long enough to understand the reading needs within the various age brackets.

AUTHOR/ PUBLISHER
Samelia combines the authentic traditions of Africa with the ever evolving cultural lifestyle in this present age. While her well-travelled experience influences her writing direction, she is sensitive to the need to preserve the rich African culture. Hence most of her books are set in a typical Afropolitan environment suitable for children and pre teens.
Her books do not only help improve the vocabulary of children between 8 and 16, they are enjoyable tools that expose kids to real issues that they may be confronted with.

Samelia has 3 different series running: The Judacan Adventures, 3 Siblings Series and Raising 3 Siblings.

Drawing on moments from her own experience in a boarding school‘Judacan Adventures’ is about the uncertainties and complexities of being sent away to an all-girls Catholic boarding school for the first time.
The main characters are from a mixed background. They have to adjust to boarding school life, tolerate it and even come to love it, while dealing with their own personal issues of life, growing up, religion and everything in between.

TEACHERS/ LIBRARIAN REVIEW
Your books especially; 'The Judacan Adventures', are modern day Enid Blyton(Mallory Towers), with an African twist. The children can't get enough of them, they can relate to the stories. They are very realistic, easy to read but enough exciting plots to keep the reader wanting more.
They are even nostalgic for the adults who have read them, because most of their parents went to boarding schools. These books have wet their appetite for other books in this genre, because these books are usually in series, a child who would normally read 1, 2 or no book at all, has become a reader after reading 4 or 5 of these books religiously.
We all know reading improves our fluency with the English language, children acquire more expressions, which in turn help them in their other subjects and thereby, taking their confidence a notch up. Good luck with your review.

As a literacy consultant and experienced English Teacher with teaching experience both in the United Kingdom and in several parts of Africa, I am always on the lookout for the next big thing to get students reading. I found Samelia Bawuah’s novels refreshing; they are good reads, certainly, but more than that, they speak to a certain sensibility of the modern teenager and their world. My students love them, this is a writer they feel can actually see them and write about them. Themes like bullying, sibling rivalry and coming-of-age feature prominently in these texts.
Her reading workshops at our top rated international school went down a storm. My students were captivated and motivated to read and write; I recommend her novels for all teens. Written in language to challenge and yet easy enough to understand, her novels feature settings and plots akin to Enid Blyton’s Mallory Towers Series. No young person should grow up without reading them.
I used the novels as a way into appreciation of literature for students I knew were not enthusiastic about the subject with fantastic results. The issues discussed are so consonant with their daily lives that it stimulates discussion and fosters in all,a love for reading. I highly recommend it!
